NY Forward Downtown Revitalization Grant

The Village of Stamford is applying for the NY Forward grant to revitalize our downtown and we need your input!

WHAT: NY Forward is a New York State downtown revitalization grant in which awardees receive 4.5 million dollars and assistance from planning consultants to help make a community's goals for their downtown a reality.

WHO: NY Forward applicants collaborate with members of the community to create a shared vision for their downtown. Project ideas and visions for the Village of Stamford's future will be submitted for consideration in the planning process through surveys and public meetings. 

If funds are granted, the community will have another chance for input on project ideas.

HOW: Please fill out a brief anonymous survey to let us know what you love best about our community, what you would like to see improve, and what projects you think would make the most impactful change: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/stamfordrising

Hard copies of this survey are available at the Village Hall.

Please submit your survey response by 4 pm on Friday, September 20, 2024.

We will also host a community meeting for discussion and input (date: TBD). Please check back soon for the meeting date announcement.

STAMFORD RISING: Our Village’s Quest for a NY Forward Grant

Our community has been hit hard in recent years by COVID-19, fires, and economic change. The phoenix is a symbol of resilience and rising from the ashes. The NY Forward Program provides an opportunity to come together as a community to decide how we can improve our beautiful Queen of the Catskills, the Village of Stamford.
